How to Charge Your Laptop Battery

When it comes to charging laptop battery, it all comes down to the kind of battery that you are using. If you are not using lithium ion batteries, you should allow them to fully discharge before charging them. If you are using lithium batteries on the other hand, there is no need to wait until the charge is fully drained. Once you have identified the battery kind that you have, you can charge according to the recommended methods to charge your laptop. 

Here are common recommended charging methods to all batteries

  1. We recommend to charge from 4 hours to 6 hours for the first time without using your laptop. Once you receive your new battery shutdown your laptop and plug to correct charger to full charge your battery.

2. The best time to charge your battery is while the computer is completely switched off. When you are trying to charge the battery while you are using the PC it can slow down the charging process. However this is not practical always but if you can us this method that can help to battery life. 
3. In the old days we have to fully drain a battery to be able to charge again but with new technological smart laptop batteries it’s not necessary. You can keep your adapter plugged in whenever possible, however do not plug and leave it for a very long time.

  • Don’t keep laptop battery out for more than 3 months without using it.

1. An incompatible charger may have a low voltage and is likely to overheat when you use it.
2. It can damage the motherboard due to faulty power supply to the laptop. 
3. The battery may start draining out too soon after using an incompatible charger which might be a permanent problem even after switching to the correct charger.
